Assessing the Effect of Windfarms on Biodiversity

23rd October 2018

A windfarm project is made up of numerous actions. Each of these actions will either have a direct effect on the environment directly or can have a number of knock-on effects which can impact the environment indirectly. I describe these direct and indirect effects as environmental stressors. These stressors can lead to biodiversity impacts.

Project Action: Peat Excavation

Construction of infrastructure will result in a large amount of soils being excavated. In upland areas or marginal farmland the soil will typically be peat.
